Residential Phone Number Verification

Many variables such as non-legible handwriting, data entry errors, and partially completed forms can affect the quality of collected data. Such errors can be time consuming to find and correct.

Intelligent Lookup Services offers Phone Number Verification as one way to combat the endless battle against managing data. The phone number verification program is for household landline phone numbers only. We receive numerous requests for cell phone numbers, however it's illegal for a service company like ILS to purchase and distribute cell numbers since the majority of cell phone plans charge for incoming calls.

Why verify phone numbers?

There is no value in a contact entry populated with false or incomplete information. Companies whose business model includes delivering actionable leads to its clients choose to establish a lead validation process to check the formatting of the phone numbers and addresses from their various input channels.

Our Phone Number Verification service not only checks the area code and state against the zip code, but also verifies the submitted name, phone number and address are related.

How a number is verified

The ILS Name Matching Technology compares the submitted file information against our telco verified in-house nationwide residential and/or business database to detemine if the name, address, and phone number belong together.

What's the difference between verifying and appending phone numbers?

Verification jobs are charged per input record. Verification includes a code for each existing phone number along with inserting a new phone number when appropriate. For example, assume a record has an existing phone number and the verification process found a different phone number for that person at that address. The new phone number would be inserted into the added phone field and the code "C" would be inserted into the code field.
